Mid-Life Refurbishment Train 中期翻新列車


九廣東鐵是連接新界與九龍的大動脈。隨著新界發展,乘客量不斷上升,九廣鐵路於九十年代探討列車的載客量。
這些都城嘉慕電動列車在 1997 年至 1999 年間進行了中期翻新,以實踐設備現代化並提升載客能力。

Since the East Rail is connecting the New Territories and Kowloon, with the rising passenger amount of New Territories' development, KCR has examined the EMU's capacity in the 1990s.
Those Metro-Cammell EMUs were conducted Mid-Life Refurbishment between 1997 to 1999, in case to modernize the equipment and enhance its passenger capacity.

隨著 Hyundai Rotem R-stock 的採用,MLR 被逐步淘汰和退役。東鐵沿線將不再出現標誌性的藍色和紅色塗裝。
With the adoption of the Rotem R-stock, MLR were phased out and retired, the iconic blue and red KCR livery will no longer in sight along the East Rail.

在服役的最後一日,港鐵為僅餘的三列列車均加上紀念貼紙。
On the last day of service, MTR added commemorative decals to the three remaining MLR EMUs.

MLR 服務東鐵綫至 2022 年 5 月 6 日,適逢九鐵首列都城嘉慕電動列車服務香港四十週年。
The Metro-Cammell EMU services on East Rail till 6th May 2022, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary of serving Hong Kong.
